SALT SPREADING AS AN ENVIRONMENTAL PROBLEM
Spreading salts are not only a welcome aid to safety and traffic flow on roads in winter, they are also pollutants that enter the environment from roads and negatively affect living organisms. The purpose of this article is to summarise the negative effects of the use of gritting salts on the environment and its individual components, to analyse the relevant legislation relating to their use and reflect on measures de lege ferenda that could mitigate their negative effects on the environment.
