THE EU COURT OF JUSTICE HAS TWICE THIS YEAR ADDRESSED THE PROTECTION OF THE COMMON WOLF
The EU Court of Justice has twice this year addressed the protection of the common wolf, namely in Spain Wolf, C436/22 from 29. 7. 2024 and WWF Österreich, C-601/22 from 11. 7. 2024. The Court upheld strict protection for the common wolf in EU and set conditions for hunting wolves in exceptional situations, while adhering to the principles and rules of the Habitats Directive.
