LEGAL REGULATION OF SEABED MINING BEYOND NATIONAL JURISDICTION
In this article, the author deals with the issue of the draft Mining Code, primarily in relation to the protection of the marine environment. The author pays special attention to the application of the precautionary principle in relation to the possibility of commencing seabed mining.
The author attempts to answer the question of whether the draft Mining Code is adapted to sufficiently reflect the precautionary principle and ensure the protection of deep-sea ecosystems from the negative impacts of seabed mining.
